KEEP HYDRATED THIS SUMMER

It’s important to stay hydrated during the summer, especially if you spend a lot of time outdoors. But water gets boring, and sodas and sports drinks are full of sugar. However, some simple additions to your water can not only improve the taste, but also provide additional benefits.

 

Spas often add cucumber slices to their water. It results in a clean, refreshing taste. It also helps flush out water retention and bloat, which is often a problem in the heat of summer. Citrus fruit is another great way to add taste and extra benefits. Lemon slices added to the water can help support the liver. Adding fresh herbs can provide additional benefits. One to consider when the heat rises is mint. Its cooling properties can make a big difference in how refreshed you feel.

 

Why not try some different combinations each week this summer? You can even make a large pitcher and sip on it throughout the day. Trying combining watermelon or cucumber with mint. Strawberry and basil is a refreshing combination. Blueberry and lemon or grapefruit and strawberry are some great fruit combinations.
