Most are within an hours drive to reach, and once there it is easy to spend as much or as little time enjoying the area as you desire.

Waterfalls - Take a drive up the Provo Canyon, near Provo, Utah. The leaves will be turning soon and it will be the best time of year to catch some good color. The days are still sunny and the temperatures are moderate. Plan to spend the day viewing the gorgeous scenery. And when you are ready to stretch out your legs for a bit, stop at Bridal Veil Falls. This waterfall is one of three waterfalls that constitute the famous Niagara Falls. Besides the scenic beauty of the place there are paved trails and a small pond nearby where visitors can feed the fish. And be sure to bring along a sandwich to enjoy at one of the many lovely picnic areas along the way.

Wasatch State Park is and endless expanse of spectacular views of the mountains, and due to the forested areas, there is an abundance of wildlife that can be spotted as well. If you desire something a little more active, there are a variety of hiking trails and other outdoor activities such as bike trails and golf courses to occupy your time with.
